Android News / AT&T Radiant Max & Calypso Smartphones Spotted: Leak

AT&T is likely working on a couple of its own-branded budget Android smartphones. According to the renowned leakster Evan Blass, the US wireless carrier will soon launch the Radiant Max & Calypso smartphones.

Apart from the leaked render, there is no other information revealed about these two new smartphones. The Go edition apps installed on the home screen of AT&T Calypso suggests it might come with Android Go OS.

This new entry-level smartphone also sports 18:9 display and single rear camera. Speaking of the AT&T Radiant Max, it sports a waterdrop notch display on the front. On the rear, there is a circular camera module featuring a triple camera setup and an LED flash.

Unlike the Calypso, the Radiant Max also comes with a fingerprint scanner placed on the rear. On both the smartphones, the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right side. Also, the Radiant Max runs on a full-fledged version of Android.

The Radiant Max comes with the model number U705AA and is manufactured in Taiwan. On the other hand, the Calypso with the model number U318AA is manufactured in Vietnam. Both these smartphones are listed on FCC by the Shenzhen-based ODM called Tinno.

The FCC listing also hints the AT&T Calypso will be coming with a removable battery. Even for an entry-level smartphone, it’s very rare to find a removable battery in 2020. Both these new smartphones will be running on Android 10 out of the box.

Also, the Wi-Fi certification website confirms the AT&T Calypso to support only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Moreover, the Radiant Max is also spotted on the Android Enterprise Recommended devices list revealing key specs. It comes with a 6.5-inch waterdrop notch display. The device also includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

AT&T is already selling its own-branded Android Go smartphone called Radiant Core. The device is powered by a quad-core processor and includes 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Unlike the Calypso, the Radiant Core runs on Android 9.0 Pie Go Edition. There is a 5MP camera on the rear and a 2MP camera on the front.

It comes with very basic specifications and is currently retailing for just $30. The upcoming AT&T Radiant Max & Calypso smartphones might launch with a very cheap price tag. As of now, there is no information from the company regarding the launch date of these new smartphones.
